Our Work, Impact Journey & Stories

Our Work

We have always known that we cannot do this work alone. It takes a community and partnership is
everything. We have learned to listen first, to seek out knowledge wherever it lives, and to trust that the
answers often come from those closest to the challenge.

When economic shifts led to a decline in traditional investment, we did not stand still. We chose to adapt
with courage, with curiosity, and with a renewed entrepreneurial spirit. By leaning into our strengths, we
focused on creating new, sustainable revenue streams. It was not easy, but we stayed the course.

This mindset, resilient, brave, and open to learning has helped us grow as a team.

We are still evolving, but our journey so far reminds us: we are capable, we are ready, and we will continue to
deliver in ways that matter.

Our Impact Journey

We know that true impact lies where data meets meaningful action. Transformation is not just counted, it’s
lived, and built over time.

Research and Thought Leadership: The Foundation for Real Impact

Research and thought leadership are critical to shaping any initiative that aims for real, lasting impact. The
World Giving Index, produced by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), tracks how people around the world
engage in giving through donations, volunteering, and helping strangers. It offers a clear, global picture of
the state of generosity.

As a member of the CAF Global Network, SAPF contributes to this leading global study. First launched after
the 2010 financial crisis, the World Giving Index has become an essential resource to understand how giving
behaviour shifts over time and across regions.

Impact Highlights

The past 2 years saw us provide key services to over 18 clients in 5 Southern African regions, including
Mozambique.

Our services spanned 8 focus areas from infrastructure to education, serving over 15 recipient groups from
youth to the elderly.

We managed and deployed over R60 million in funds with over 190 organisations benefiting.

Our Stories

We aligned each task to the core values of SAPF. These stories illustrate the services curated from our portfolio of offerings. We listened and learned from those closest to challenges, ensuring solutions were informed by lived experiences rather than assumptions.

When We Stepped into the Flood Waters—Literally

In 2022, the floods in KwaZulu-Natal devastated lives and communities. In response, our client acted swiftly, providing emergency aid and SAPF was tasked with delivering it where it was needed most.

With the guidance of disaster relief experts, our partners, we navigated the complex logistics of crisis response. Coordinating last-mile delivery in challenging conditions, we leaned on the strengths of many. Together, we delivered essential supplies.

This experience reminded us that while we may not have all the answers, the strength of many clients, partners, experts, and communities can create powerful, life-changing responses.

Trusted Stewardship: Honouring Every Gift’s Purpose

At SAPF, we know that every gift carries a promise. We are trusted with our clients’ precious assets, and we take that responsibility seriously. We don’t just manage funds; we honour their purpose, ensuring each gift reaches the right hands with transparency and care.

For one client, SAPF oversaw the renovation of a school in South Africa, opening doors to quality education for primary and high school learners. For another, SAPF stewards funds for regional non-profits helping young people build skills in AI and STEM.

In every case, SAPF acts as a trusted steward protecting intent, delivering measurable outcomes, and upholding the highest standards of accountability.

A Bold New Frontier for SAPF

SAPF stepped into a bold new frontier with American Spaces—global hubs for learning, technology, and cultural exchange. At the American Corner in Cape Town, we were entrusted to design programs that spark collaboration and deepen ties between South Africa and the United States. With over 600 locations in 140 countries, American Spaces are bridges across cultures.

SAPF also led the recruitment and onboarding of a vibrant team to bring this vision to life. This milestone marked more than growth for SAPF; it reinforced our commitment to building connections that create lasting impact for both those who give and those who receive.

A Journey Ahead

Our work is shaped by good stewardship, trust, collaboration, and a commitment to what endures. We move
forward purposefully, responding to the needs of our clients, partners and the people served. We invite you
to walk alongside us by building change that is steady, meaningful, and lasting.
